Description
Janice Philteos (She/Her/Hers) is an associate in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution group in the Toronto office of Dentons Canada. Janice has a broad commercial and civil litigation practice and has experience with a broad range of litigation matters, including corporate and shareholder disputes, contractual disputes, professional negligence, and securities litigation. This typically involves defending corporations in civil actions and applications at various levels of court, as well as pre-litigation disputes. In conjunction with the litigation aspect of her practice, she also often engages in alternative dispute resolution, representing clients in mediation and arbitration proceedings. Janice works closely with clients to find creative solutions to their legal challenges, with a focus on bringing a forward-thinking and client-centered approach. She prides herself on her ability to build rapport with all counsel, parties and adjudicators involved.

Janice completed her Juris Doctor at Osgoode Hall Law School. During law school, she represented Osgoode in the Davies Corporate/Securities Moot where her team won second place and she was recognized as one of the top oral advocates. Janice was a caseworker at Osgoode’s Mediation Clinic where she mediated several cases at the Small Claims Court. She was also a caseworker in the immigration division of Parkdale Community Legal Services.
