Description
Todd Davidson is a partner in the Firm’s Real Estate group. Based in Toronto, his commercial law practice has a focus on commercial real estate, including commercial leasing and transactional real estate involving purchases, sales and financings of commercial properties in the office, industrial and retail sectors. A seasoned negotiator, Todd is involved with all aspects of owning, managing, leasing, selling, buying and financing commercial real estate.

Todd’s diverse client base includes landlords, building owners and managers, REITs, pension funds and institutional lenders in real estate, municipal and general commercial matters. He also acts for public sector clients and municipalities in real estate, development and other commercial matters. In addition, Todd provides strategic counsel to an international transportation and third party logistics provider.

In 2018, Todd was appointed as Chief Agent for Canada for Chicago Title Insurance Company. He has acted for Chicago Title and has been involved in the title insurance field for many years.

A results-driven lawyer, Todd is renowned for his common sense, calm approach, ability to uncover issues quickly, thoroughness in dealing with unexpected hurdles, as well as his punctuality in achieving results.

Having law degrees from universities in both Canada and the US (and having been called to the bars of both Ontario and Michigan), has served Todd’s clients very well over a stellar career spanning more than two decades.

Todd is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association (NAIOP), the Canadian Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Albany Club of Toronto. He is also active in the community, serving on Toronto’s Crestwood School Scholarship Foundation.
