Description
Rob Roth (He/Him/His) is National Partner and Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel for Dentons Canada, and a member of the National Management Committee. In this role, Rob advises the Canada Region Chief Executive Officer and Board on various issues, and leads the Office of the General Counsel and Risk teams who deal with a range of matters, including ethics, conflicts, litigation, insurance, contractual issues and risk mitigation.

Rob has over 30 years of experience assisting clients with mergers and acquisitions, project development (including P3s), corporate finance, corporate structuring and governance and commercial transactions. He has worked with clients in a diverse range of sectors, including the energy, power, utility (water/wastewater), construction, forestry, transportation, agricultural and financial sectors, among others.

Planning, structuring and implementing transactions, drafting complex commercial agreements and advising Boards on matters of governance and policy have become particular areas of focus within Rob’s practice. His role within the Firm has also developed to include client management responsibilities for a number of Dentons’ key clients.

From 2014 to 2017, Rob was the National Managing Partner and Chief Operating Officer of Dentons Canada. In this role, Rob oversaw the Canada Region’s legal practice and administrative functions and had significant responsibility for the implementation of Dentons’ strategy in Canada.

Rob has been recognized by Lexpert and Best Lawyers in Canada in the areas of mergers and acquisitions law, corporate law and infrastructure.
