Description
Sharon Addison (She/Her/Hers) is a partner in the Firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution group and the national Real Estate Sector Lead. Based in Toronto, she is an accomplished litigator whose practice focuses on commercial litigation on behalf of both national and local commercial landlords, commercial tenants, developers and construction companies. She represents private and public corporations and entrepreneurs, providing them with strategic counsel to shield them from potential obstacles and, when necessary, provides experience in the courtroom.

An intuitive and results-driven professional, Sharon litigates commercial lease disputes and real estate matters. She has considerable experience with commercial landlord and tenant matters, including lease default remedies, lease interpretation, injunctive relief and collection; general commercial litigation, including mining claim issues, enforcement of secured interests; and construction issues, including negotiation of construction contracts, construction liens and trust claims.

She has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Divisional Court, the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Ontario Human Rights Commission and the Supreme Court of Prince Edward Island.

Sharon shares her vast experience at local, national and international conferences. She conducts numerous presentations and sits on several panels on commercial litigation law, creditor remedies and commercial landlord and tenant issues.

To complement her busy litigation practice, Sharon continues to give back to her industry and community. She is a past president and active member of Toronto CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) and was the 2019 CREW Network Foundation Champion Director for the Eastern Region of both Canada and the US. Sharon was also the 2021 recipient of the Tribute Award presented by the Toronto CREW Board of Directors for her many contributions and commitments to the organization and her exemplification Toronto CREW’s mission. At the Firm, Sharon has been a recipient of the Dentons Mentoring Award.

Sharon is also a member of the Ontario Bar Association’s Business, Real Property and Litigation Sections, a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Toronto Construction Association, and the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties. She is a past president of Law Firm Alliance, a global legal networking organization.
