Description
Alexander, a partner at the firm, practises corporate and commercial law and is a member of the firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions group. Alexander joined the firm in 2019 after relocating from Toronto to Ottawa. In Toronto, Alexander practised at a law firm affiliated with a Chartered Professional Accounting firm where he gained extensive experience advising family businesses on corporate and succession planning matters. Before that, Alexander articled and practised at a mid-sized Toronto firm where he advised many of the firm’s key clients on commercial agreements and transactions. As such, Alexander is experienced with advising clients of all sizes – from sole proprietors to family businesses to large multinational enterprises – on a diverse array of corporate and commercial matters including:

corporate structuring and reorganizations;
business purchase and sale transactions;
complex commercial agreements including supply and distribution agreements, technology and intellectual property licensing agreements, and services agreements; and
financings and secured transactions.

In his practice, Alexander delivers value to clients by being proactive and always applying the law in a practical, timely, and cost-effective manner.

Until recently, Alexander was an editor for the Law Society of Ontario, responsible for updating the chapters on opinions, searches, and secured transactions within the lawyer licensing examination study materials distributed to all candidates.

Alexander holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto and a Juris Doctor from Queen’s University, where he was awarded the David Sabbath Prize in Alternative Dispute Resolution.
