Description
Vivian Poon is a senior associate in our Corporate group. Her practice focuses on corporate and commercial law with a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, technology contracting, licensing and outsourcing. She is a member of the Dentons Global Corporate Task Force. Vivian has acted for clients on both the buy and sell side of domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, applying her skills and experience in project management. Vivian also specializes in complex outsourcing and strategic corporate and commercial matters for clients across a broad range of industries, including fintech, retail, transportation and logistics, insurance, real estate, and software development. Vivian regularly provides advice on commercial arrangements and technology transactions, including software services licensing and development, technology acquisition and implementation, service agreements, reseller agreements, data sharing agreements, social media, internet/e-commerce and outsourcing arrangements. A large part of Vivian’s practice focuses on providing strategic legal advice to enterprises as they work through the commercial and operational realities of digital transformations.
As an associate, Vivian was seconded to Loblaw Companies Limited where she worked closely with legal and business team members assisting with commercial contracting and various corporate matters.
Prior to law school, Vivian was an epidemiologist for several national and provincial healthcare research institutions. She is a member of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers (FACL), and was a founding director for FACL-Atlantic.
Vivian joined Dentons as a summer student in 2016 and articled with the Firm in 2017-2018.
