Danielle Collins graduated from the University of Alberta’s faculty of law in 2011, and became a member of the Law Society of Alberta in 2012. She has practiced exclusively in family law. Her practice areas include, parenting, mobility, support (child & spousal), division of family property, representing children and youth, child protection, international child abduction as well as drafting family law contracts.
Danielle has litigation experience in the Provincial Court of Alberta, the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta and at the Court of Appeal of Alberta. Danielle is also a trained mediator as well as a registered Collaborative Family Lawyer.
She is an executive member of the Canadian Bar Association, northern family law section since 2013 and the chair for 2017-2018 as well as an executive member of the northern child & youth law section since its inception in 2018. She is also an advising lawyer for Pro Bono Students Canada and an executive member of the Just-Us Girls Youth Justice Committee. Danielle is a board member for the Edmonton Community Legal Centre and a member-at-large for the Legal Aid Alberta Appeals Committee.
