Description
Rachael’s practice focuses on litigation in a variety of areas, including corporate/commercial litigation, pension and employment litigation, and intellectual property disputes. Rachael’s corporate/commercial litigation practice focuses on complex transactional and shareholder disputes, as well as class actions.

Rachael represents major pension funds and corporations in pension litigation matters at various levels of court. She also represents clients in pension and employment litigation matters before various statutory administrative tribunals, including the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario and the Financial Services Tribunal. Rachael has acted as counsel to the defendants in a number of precedent-setting national employment class actions, including in matters on behalf of Canada Cartage, Livingston International and Canadian Hockey League.

Rachael’s intellectual property litigation practice includes proceedings under the Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) Regulations concerning leading drug products for pharmaceutical companies, proceedings before the Patented Medicines Prices Review Board, and patent infringement and impeachment actions in life sciences, information technology, and other industries.

Rachael has appeared as counsel at all levels of court in Ontario, various administrative tribunals, the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench, the Federal Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada.
