Description
Tara Law is Knowledge Management Securities Counsel in the Corporate Group. Tara advises clients on complex securities, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and continuous disclosure matters. She also works with the Knowledge Management team and is responsible for developing legal content, monitoring, and creating awareness of legal, market and regulatory developments and participating in continuing legal education initiatives.

Professional Activities
Tara is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Ontario Bar Association and the Canadian Bar Association.

Background
Prior to joining Stikeman Elliott, Tara was counsel at a national Canadian law firm where she practiced corporate law for 15 years focusing on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, continuous disclosure matters and investment funds and asset management. In 2018, Tara completed a six month secondment at the legal team of a Canadian bank where she focused on capital markets transactions. Tara began her career at a prominent Australian law firm and was admitted as a legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of Queensland, Australia.
