Practicing exclusively in the area of Family Law since his call to the Bar in 1990, as a senior partner at Victor Vallance Blais, balance is key to Ian’s approach to family law issues. Ian uses his experience in handling complex property, support and high conflict custody/access issues to provide solid and practical solutions. Ian’s extensive trial and appellate litigation experience, with numerous reported decisions often establishing important principles in the area of family law, is balanced with mediation and Collaborative Family Law training. A frequent speaker at Conferences on substantive issues and trial techniques, Ian has written numerous articles and papers including the Custody and Access Chapter of the Law Society of Upper Canada’s Bar Admission Course materials.
