Description
Frank Selke is a partner in the Capital Markets, Mergers & Acquisitions and Securities Groups. His practice focuses on complex capital markets transactions, public and private mergers and acquisitions and special situations, including activist and contentious engagements with public and private companies. Frank also advises clients on regulatory and internal investigations, shareholder disputes, restructurings and other commercially sensitive matters.

Frank has acted for public and private companies and their boards of directors, special committees, investment banks, institutional investors, investment managers, private equity and hedge funds and ultra-high net worth individuals and their families. Frank’s practice also involves advising clients across various industries on corporate governance, securities regulatory compliance, continuous disclosure obligations and executive compensation.

Professional Activities
Frank is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and the Canadian Bar Association. He is also a member of Stikeman Elliott’s Student Committee and the Co-Chair of the firm’s Jr. Securities Practice Group.

Background
Frank completed a secondment to the Ontario Securities Commission at the Office of Mergers & Acquisitions. While at the OSC, Frank had responsibility for reviewing take-over bids, issuer bids, conflict of interest transactions, proxy-related matters involving public companies and the investigation of sophisticated transaction related complaints.

Frank previously worked at a specialized advisory firm with a focus on providing legal and strategic advice to clients in special situations while concurrently serving as vice-president of a related hedge fund with a long/short investment strategy.
