Description
Max Spearn is the national lead of Miller Thomson’s Corporate, M&A and Securities practice group. He has a focused corporate and commercial law practice with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, venture capital, debt and equity financings, and commercial advice. Max frequently works with U.S. law firms and businesses on cross-border transactions and structures for doing business in Canada. He also negotiates and drafts shareholder, partnership and joint venture agreements, service agreements and various other commercial agreements. Max regularly advises emerging and high-growth clients on financings and other aspects of corporate commercial law. Max focuses on understanding his clients’ businesses in order to provide practical and tailored advice.

Max often presents at legal and industry conferences and events on emerging trends and issues in the areas of M&A, corporate governance and contract negotiations.

Max is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, Canadian Bar Association, and Ontario Bar Association. Max has been recognized in corporate law by The Best Lawyers in Canada, and in commercial law and mergers & acquisitions by The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory.
