Description
Alexander “Lex” Overton has experience on matters related to restructuring and insolvency as well as litigation. In this capacity he has advised major organizations in difficult and unprecedented situations.

As well as providing responsive and well-researched advice, Lex represents his clients before the court, including the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Commercial List.

Lex received the 2021 Michael MacNaughton Student Writing Award for Insolvency Law for his paper “Aquadis Case Comment – Extending the Reach of the Super Monitor.” He earned a J.D. from Western University and was an active member of the community there, including advising national and Olympic-level athletes through the Sport Solution Clinic and serving as Vice-President, External in student government. He also holds an honours bachelor’s degree in political science and law from Carleton University.
