I am a family lawyer based in Vancouver, BC. I provide advice and representation to clients all over BC for issues arising from separation, including property division, parenting arrangements, and child and spousal support.

Using the court system to resolve disputes tends to be a poor solution for most separating couples; it's an expensive and stressful endeavour that leads to a long and escalating conflict, prolonging the finalization of a separation. I have too frequently seen people needlessly spend tens of thousands on legal fees on the way to trial that could have otherwise gone to their retirement, a down-payment on a new home, or their children's tuition – not to mention the added time and stress during an already stressful period.

In pursuit of a fair separation, my practice is to develop a cost-minded plan that avoids the courtroom where possible. By instead relying on reasoned negotiations and mediations to try to strike a fair deal, we can resolve the legal aspects of a separation in a way that is more cost-effective, less stressful, and faster than bringing a fight to a judge. That said, I am an experienced litigator and will rigorously advocate for you where court cannot be reasonably avoided.

I was born, raised, and am currently living in the Lower Mainland. I obtained my undergraduate degree at the University of Victoria, graduating with a major in Biology, with honors. After working in a research lab for a couple years, I went to Dalhousie University in Halifax to get my law degree, which I completed in 2018. I completed my articles, and then practiced with a mid-sized law firm in the Fraser Valley for nearly 5 years.
