Sangeetha Punniyamoorthy is a partner at DLA Piper (Canada) where she specializes in intellectual property and technology law. Sangeetha has over a decade of experience litigating copyright, patent and trademark matters, and also provides strategic advice in the procurement and enforcement of global brands in a variety of industries. She has appeared as counsel in two appeals before the Supreme Court of Canada, as well as in matters before the Federal Court, the Ontario Courts, and the Competition Tribunal. She has been described by World Trademark Review 2017 as an “exceptional” lawyer for her litigation and enforcement work, and ranked as a leading lawyer by World Intellectual Property Review. She has also been recognized by Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory 2017 as a Leading IP Lawyer to Watch. Sangeetha has her J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School and a B.Sc. from the University of Toronto.
