Civil Litigation

Description
I practice exclusively in the area of civil litigation, focusing on commercial litigation, including contract and shareholder disputes. I have extensive advocacy experience including at trial, on appeal, and before administrative tribunals.

Prior to my acceptance into the Faculty of Law at the University of Alberta, I served as a member of the Canadian Armed Forces for nearly 7 years, as an armored crewman.

I was accepted into the Faculty of Law at the University of Alberta prior to completion of my Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Classics, spending my last undergraduate semester at an archaeological field school in Northern Greece. During that summer semester, I also travelled to Great Britain, France, and all over Greece.

While in the Faculty of Law, I organized and participated in numerous volunteer and charitable activities in support of such organizations as the Cross-Cancer Institute, the Edmonton Food Bank, and Santa’s Anonymous.

Since commencing my legal career at a small Edmonton law firm, eventually joining Weir Bowen in 2012 as an associate, my practice has been exclusively in the area of civil litigation with an emphasis on commercial litigation.

I have extensive advocacy experience, which includes trial and appellate experience and appearing before Administrative Tribunals, and experience in complex commercial matters which require swift and decisive actions such as injunctions, Anton Piller Orders, preservation orders, attachment orders, or other forms of extraordinary pre-judgment relief.

I have advocated for my clients before the Law Enforcement Review Board, the Provincial Court of Alberta, the Alberta Court of King’s Bench, the Alberta Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada

When I am not advocating for my clients, I spend my spare time with my family, travelling, camping, enjoying the outdoors or catching up on the latest Marvel or Star Wars movie.
