Description
Mani is a litigator and natural problem solver. Clients rely on her practical legal advice to tackle some of their most difficult and important disputes. Mani has helped clients, from businesses to Indigenous governments to individuals, navigate:
commercial litigation
public/administrative/constitutional law matters
class actions
intellectual property enforcement and infringement cases
defamation and privacy tort claims
tax disputes
She has appeared before trial and appellate level courts in Ontario, British Columbia, New York, and at the federal level in Canada and the United States.
Mani uses her creativity, strong legal analytical skills, and extensive knowledge of her clients’ business/circumstances to develop a dispute resolution strategy that fits within their overall goals. She appreciates that real life problems do not fit neatly into a single practice area. As such, she routinely manages the right team of specialists to provide the most effective and complete solutions.
Mani strongly believes in access to justice and the important role lawyers play in achieving social justice. She has worked on several pro- bono matters for not-for-profit organizations on constitutional issues such as the right to vote (section 3 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms) and the equal protection and due process clauses (Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution). Mani has represented children seeking asylum, victims of global human trafficking and victims of domestic abuse. She received the Pro Bono Award at Proskauer Rose LLP for her commitment to her pro bono clients.
