Giovanna Asaro is a partner whose litigation practice focuses on defending claims of sexual abuse, professional negligence, malicious prosecution, wrongful arrest, and negligent investigation for a variety of public authorities and private corporations.

Clients have confidence in Giovanna’s ability to handle their sensitive, high-stakes claims with dignity, respect and discretion. Giovanna’s litigation expertise includes over 20 years’ experience counselling and representing child welfare, recreational, policing, government, religious, and educational organizations in sexual assault and abuse claims. Giovanna has worked on a number of class actions and is currently lead counsel defending a class action related to the alleged sexual abuse of First Nations class members.

Giovanna is greatly respected for her responsiveness to the specific needs and concerns of her clients, her practical legal and risk management advice, and her judicious use of resources to help clients achieve their objectives.

Giovanna has successfully appeared and argued cases before all levels of Court in Ontario, including the Court of Appeal, and has prepared written submissions for the Supreme Court of Canada.
