Frank S.M. Devito is a civil litigator, senior partner and mediator at Beard Winter LLP, with more than 28 years of insurance defence litigation expertise. Bringing sound advice and a deep understanding of the insurance industry, Frank has a lengthy track record of successfully defending insurers in relation to various types of claims. Frank has a diverse practice and extensive experience in relation to various areas of law including motor vehicle litigation, occupier’s liability claims, general liability claims, property/casualty claims, tavern liability claims, construction negligence claims, contractor negligence claims, fraud claims, product liability claims as well as life and health claims. Frank also regularly defends pharmacists in relation to claims alleging professional misconduct and negligence. Frank regularly provides clients with coverage advice and opinions in these same areas of law.

Frank has appeared as counsel in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Divisional Court and the Ontario Court of Appeal.

Frank’s practice has evolved over the years and he also works regularly as a mediator. Frank’s extensive experience in handling a wide variety of claims, combined with the fact that Frank has been to trial on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants, gives him a deep understanding and balanced view of both sides of a claim.
