Brandon Barnes Trickett is a partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution and Regulatory groups. Based in the Toronto office, his practice focuses primarily on complex civil litigation, securities and derivatives litigation (including ISDA arbitration), enforcement, and investigations in the financial services and insurance sectors. Brandon has particular experience in contentious market integrity matters, including insider trading, exchange operations, misdealing, and securities fraud. Brandon employs proactive risk mitigation strategies to help grow, protect, operate and finance businesses locally, nationally, and internationally.

In addition to acting as counsel in litigation, Brandon has advised financial institutions locally and globally on trading conduct, anti-money laundering, and anti-corruption matters, including the oversight of multiple internal investigations in those domains. Apart from his financial services practice, Brandon also advises in the area of public law with an emphasis on law enforcement and appellate advocacy for public authorities. Since 2019, Brandon has been consistently recognized by the legal industry’s most prominent directories as a top lawyer under 40 and a lawyer to watch in Canada.

Brandon has appeared before trial and appellate courts and regulatory tribunals in Canada and the UK, including the Supreme Court of Canada. His work has a significant international dimension, having practised for nearly two decades in London and Toronto before joining Dentons. Brandon is fluent in French and English, with capabilities in other languages.
