Description
Robert Douglas’ practice focuses on advising clients with respect to wills, estate and trust related matters. Rob has acted on behalf of clients on a wide variety of corporate, commercial, trust and wills and estates matters ranging from local to international in scope. Rob has earned his Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation from the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. Rob spent a number of years practicing law with a large Canadian legal firm, following which he served in-house at a major international mining and energy organization. Rob was most recently a principal of his own firm for several years. Prior to embarking on his legal career, Rob worked in the Alberta oil patch and as a Biologist on Canada’s west coast. Rob’s background in the energy and mining sectors, ranging from his early days working in the field through his later work on some of the largest energy deals in Canada, provide him with a valuable “ground up” understanding of Canadian industry. This experience is invaluable to him when assisting clients with estate planning matters that include structuring inter-generational wealth transfer and business succession planning.
