Thomas Wong is a Partner in the Corporate Practice Group at WeirFoulds and is Co-Chair of the firm’s Technology & Intellectual Property and Privacy Practice Group.

His practice is focused on intellectual property, information technology law, and privacy law. Thomas brings extensive knowledge and experience in advising clients on a wide range of contractual and commercial matters, ranging from routine to highly complex engagements. His work includes matters related to e-commerce, cloud computing and Software as a Service (SaaS) arrangements, software development and licensing, as well as telecommunications and Internet services. He is known for delivering practical, solution-oriented advice and for his ability to distill complex legal and technical issues into clear, understandable guidance for his clients.

He has represented both customers and service providers, large and small, in a wide range of industries including pharmaceutical and chemical analysis, online travel and booking services, hotel, music and media, construction, telecommunications, and automobile financing.

Over the course of his practice, Thomas has been seconded to a number of in-house legal teams, including one of the largest software licensors and cloud computing providers in the world, and has built an in-depth and unique understanding of the business needs and operational processes of technology clients. This allows him to quickly adapt to client processes, understand client needs, and deliver practical solutions to get over any road blocks.
