Description
Spencer is a partner in the Toronto office of Lerners with a focus on Restructuring and Insolvency. Spencer is also a member of the firm’s Appeals and Dispute Resolution and Advocacy groups.

With respect to his insolvency practice, Spencer’s clients include parties on both sides of a financial transaction including banks, credit unions, private lenders, and borrowers. He has also represented creditors and receivers in receivership and CCAA proceedings.

Spencer seeks to navigate the insolvency process by either maximizing realization on the creditor side or finding acceptable compromises on the debtor side. Spencer is solution-focused and seeks to take a business-oriented approach where advice and decisions are rooted in ensuring a practical solution for his clients.
