Description
Robert is an associate lawyer in Calgary who focuses on private equity fund investments and formation, as well as mergers and acquisitions. He oversees a wide range of commercial sectors and helps companies navigate the rules around raising capital involving both private and public equity transactions. He also supports private equity funds, venture capital firms and other investors to evaluate and complete investments across a range of industries.
Robert is an associate lawyer in the Calgary office who focuses on fund formation and investments, private and public equity transactions, as well as mergers and acquisitions.
Robert leads private equity and venture capital fund general partners and managers through their fund’s lifecycle—from formation, governance and capital raising, to portfolio acquisitions. This includes alternative vehicles to advance investment objectives. Robert also leads the disposition of portfolio assets and their eventual winding down.
Robert regularly advises clients on private and public equity transactions, continuous disclosure requirements and mergers and acquisitions. In addition, Robert also provides commercial support through agreements and negotiation of business relationships in a wide range of commercial sectors.
Outside of work, Robert is an elite lawn bowler who has competed and won several medals at the highest international levels. In his time as a national team athlete, Robert has been an athlete advocate both in the board room and on the field. He served as an athlete representative for his own respective sport, and he served as a Director for AthletesCAN, an organization that advocates for Canadian national team athletes, both nationally and internationally.
Robert is currently the athlete representative on the board of Commonwealth Sport Canada—a job he’s been doing since 2023. He continues to compete in tournaments around the globe.
