Originally from Edmundston, NB, Gary attended Saint Thomas University and the University of New Brunswick and was admitted to the Law Society of New Brunswick on June 24, 1977.
Since admission, he has been involved in private practice with emphasis on civil litigation representing injured parties to recover damages, with emphasis on catastrophic injuries. He also represents parties involving contract disputes, and a wide range of financial institutions involving recovery of debt and enforcing security.
He has appeared before all levels of Court in New Brunswick as well as the Supreme Court of Canada. He is a former adjudicator with the Land Title system.
Gary is a member of the Madawaska Law Society, the New Brunswick Law Society, and the Canadian Bar Association.
He has been and is involved in various committees of the Law Society of New Brunswick. He has been involved as a volunteer and director of various charitable organizations such as Girl Guides, Boy Scouts, Fife Foundation and the Victorian Order of Nurses.
Gary is Chairman of the Mental Health Tribunal for the Edmundston Health District. He is an Arbitrator appointed to adjudicate disciplinary matters pursuant to the Police Act and the Code of Professional Conduct Regulation – Police Act.
Gary is a Queen’s Counsel and has over 40 years at the Bar.
