Description
Dan Murdoch is a partner in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group and a member of the Associates Committee in the Toronto office. He is also Chair of the Firm’s Claims & Risk Management Committee. His practice focuses on class actions and complex commercial litigation. His class action practice includes securities, product liability and professional negligence. Dan has been counsel on multiple securities class actions, frequently obtaining early dismissal. His commercial litigation practice involves a wide range of matters, including securities, shareholder disputes, real estate, professional negligence, and product liability disputes. He has appeared at all levels of courts in Ontario, regulatory tribunals, and acts regularly in commercial arbitration matters.

Professional Activities
Dan is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association and The Advocates’ Society.

Background
Prior to joining Stikeman Elliott, Dan practised for over three years in the litigation department of a major American law firm in New York, where his practice focused on complex commercial litigation, including bankruptcy and insolvency matters, class actions and SEC investigations.
