Description
Charlene Kavanagh is the head of the Litigation Department at Merovitz Potechin LLP. She began her legal career over twenty years ago. Charlene’s litigation practice excels in corporate and civil disputes involving employment matters, estates, insurance law, construction law, condominiums, personal injury, and professional negligence. She has argued successfully before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Divisional Court of Ontario, the Court of Appeal for Ontario, as well as various administrative tribunals.

With her vast experience in litigation and a Masters in Laws in Civil Litigation and Alternate Dispute Resolution, Charlene is well-placed to mediate disputes. She is pleased to announce that she is now accepting mandates as mediator.

Charlene focuses on delivering the best results for her clients in a timely and cost-effective manner. She became a lawyer to help people, and she prides herself on guiding clients through the complex legal issues they bring to her.

A native Newfoundlander, Charlene moved to Ottawa twenty-five years ago straight from law school in Montreal. Charlene speaks English, French, German, and has a working knowledge of Portuguese. She welcomes working with clients in these languages.

When Charlene is not in the office, you will find her reading, travelling, or playing travel agent for her and her family.
