Arlen’s practice focuses on business litigation, with an emphasis on administrative, employment and corporate commercial law. He regularly appears as counsel before all levels of court in Ontario, in trial, judicial review and appellate matters, and conducts regulatory hearings before various administrative tribunals. He also handles commercial arbitrations and mediations. Arlen has significant experience handling employment related disputes, including wrongful dismissal actions and disputes involving obligations of departing employees.

As part of his administrative law practice, Arlen has extensive experience handling significant regulatory hearings in the energy industry, including relating to infrastructure projects. This includes having conducted many hearings as lead counsel before the Ontario Environmental Review Tribunal regarding wind and solar energy projects, the Ontario Energy Board in proceedings for electricity utilities and related judicial review and appeal proceedings.

. In addition, he has managed hearings before a variety of other regulatory tribunals across a number of industries, including in licensing and disciplinary tribunal contexts.
