Akingbade has a Master of Laws degree from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom. Prior to this, he completed his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, before proceeding to the Nigerian Law School to obtain his Barrister- at- Law degree. Called to the Nigerian Bar in 2007, Akingbade practised law extensively in the areas of Civil litigation Law, Property Law, Corporate/Commercial Law, Oil and Gas Law, Admiralty Law, Family Law, Investment Arbitration Law and briefly Criminal Law with the firm of J. B. Majiyagbe SAN (the first African President Rotary International).

Akingbade was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2019.
He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association,
Chartered Institute of Arbitrators United Kingdom, Nigeria Branch,
and several other International Organisations

Akingbade runs a general practice.
